Kids Crochet Classes

Kids Crochet Classes

This month the first lot of kids crochet classes were held at Evans of Masterton, the new owner of this store Justine has been really keen on helping introduce crochet to the younger generation.

It was a big day running two classes one after each other to fit everyone in, but it was also full of a lot of laughs and fun. I purchased a bulk lot of the no sew chick pattern from a fellow kiwi crochet pattern designer @stitchbyfay. The chicks looked so cute and the kids loved making them but in hindsight probably a little difficult as a first class learning to crochet in rounds, increasing and decreasing.

The kids favourite part was discovering safety eyes 👀 deciding where to place them and creating the beak made all the chicks unique. We managed to get all 9 chicks completed some with a little more help than others, but they all went away with some new skills in basic crochet and sewing.

This month I have another beginner kids class where I have a new design which should be easier for them. The mini pillow pet or monster, they can customise with different eyes and features hair, nose, ears etc. See classes page to book this class.

The retuning kids from last class will be making a plushie Octopus keychain. If you are interested in a private kids crochet class around 4 kids is a good number please send me an email jasmine@bonfirecrafts.co.nz
