For those that want to carry on making their cardigan from April class we will be learning how to sew panels together and start on the sleeves. For everyone else wanting to start the cardigan see information below.
This class is for confident crochets that would like to learn how to make garments. We will be learning to make the Estelle Cardigan pattern over a series of 3 classes. The Estelle Cardigan is a waist length relaxed fit with slightly flared sleeves. The size small will be on display at Evans but the pattern is written in sizes XS through to 3XL.
In the first class you will learn:
- How to choose the correct weight yarn
- Making a gauge swatch to determine which hook size
- Taking measurements to decide on a size to make
- Starting the back panel
- Checking gauge and measurement on back panel.
Amount of yarn you will need:
approximately a 3.5mm crochet hook but you may need to go up or down a hook size to meet gauge depending on your tension and chosen yarn.
8ply yarn I used the spritz available from Evans but you could use other 8ply that is on the thinner side look for gauge information on the label of 22 or 23 Sts.
XS 1000m, S 1040m, M 1210m, L 1310m, XL 1450m 2XL 1570m 3XL 1700m
There are no refunds on classes but if you are sick and unable to attend you will be issued with a credit that must be used in the following 60 days.
