I use this as the second class after a basic beginner one, it’s great for teaching the double crochet stitch and how to start reading a basic pattern. The pattern includes good photo tutorials as well, it’s an easier step than going straight to teaching granny squares. It uses a 5mm crochet hook and 500m of 8ply/Dk yarn. We have been using for classes Himalaya everyday super lux acrylic or King Cole Cherished Dk acrylic, which makes for an affordable scarf.
